Volunteer & Donation Opportunities at FOFAS |

If you love animals, FOFAS has the volunteer opportunity that's just right for you! Below is one example of a way you can help by filling currently open volunteer positions:
Dog Fosters We need dog fosters, so more shelter dogs can make it safely to new adoptive homes.
Morning Cat Feeders: If you enjoy the company of cats, here's a great way to start the day. We currently have several a.m. shifts open to feed cats in the volunteer office. You will be greeted with head rubs and quiet meows of appreciation as soon as cats hear the sound of the can opener! In addition to feeding, you would provide a clean litter box and administer any needed medication. Can you spare about 90 minutes one morning a week for the felines? Orientation to FoFAS, as well as specific training in shelter cat feeding will be cheerfully provided.
Cat and Kitten Fosters: Spring and Summer are a busy time for the shelter. Kitten season is upon us and we need people to help care for and socialize the kittens to get them ready for adoption.
Cat Photographers: Love animals? Love photography? Why not combine the two? FOFAS is looking for someone to take pictures and write bios
of incoming cats for our website. Flexible schedule, requiring approximately 2-4 hours a week.
Dog Photographer: If you enjoy the antics of doggies hamming it up for the camera, here's a great way to spend a few hours every other Sunday. Dog photographers work with another (experienced!) volunteer to photograph incoming dogs for publicity/web site posting, then crop and/or edit the photos at home and email them to other volunteers for posting.
Afternoon Dog Feeders: Needed for care of dogs and pups in shelter from around 4 to 5:30 p.m. one afternoon per week. In addition to giving dog biscuits, water and blankets to all dogs, there are "special needs" pups and dogs who require a second daily feeding. You will love to see the tails wagging with happiness when you arrive!
Dog Walkers: Get some exercise and make a dog's day. We need more dog walkers to help us get our canine friends out of their cages.
Donations: Perhaps you don't have time to volunteer right now. Monetary donations of any amount are always gratefully accepted, or consider donating some wet kitten food to help us feed the many kittens coming through the shelter this summer. FOFAS gratefully accepts donations of UNOPENED cans or bags of food (our shelter veterinarian requests that we not accept opened bags of food). You may drop the food off at the shelter or consider a Petsmart gift card.
FOFAS would also welcome the donation of kennel beds so our canine visitors can be a bit cozier off the cement. Kuranda
dog beds offers these beds to rescue groups at whole sale prices. Please do not send donations for Kuranda beds directly to FoFAS, as they can only be made through the Kuranda website. Click here to donate.
If you are interested in these or other volunteer positions, please see
our Volunteering Page. All volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation.

| "Bentley" | "Alan" |
Tall, dark and handsome, "Bentley" is a classy dog. Volunteer walkers find him interactive and very affectionate. Come check him out! | "Alan" is a lovable big boy who came in with his brother or possibly son, "Gordy", after their owner passed away. They are both very sweet cats and would love to be reunited but could be adopted separately too.
